Obituary of Garry Phil Cattafesta

Garry Phil Cattaffesta, 75, of Fairmont, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 14, 2026. He was born on October 15, 1950, a son to the late Augustine “Gustie” and Anna Virginia Squires Cattafesta. He is survived by his children, Tammy Cattafesta Boyce and her husband Rusty, Chad Cattafesta and his wife Shannon, and Ryan Cattafesta. Garry is also survived by his grandchildren, Bailey and Dalton Boyce, and Ashley and Cole Cattafesta, along with his nephew, Jay T. Cattafesta, his nieces, Lisa and Tai Cattafesta. In addition to his parents, Garry was preceded in death by his twin brother, Larry Bill Cattafesta, and his close friend, who was more like a brother, Dave Gibson. Garry retired from Universal Container Corporation, Ferndale, Michigan with over 20 years of dedicated service as a plant manager. He was a proud 1968 graduate of East Fairmont High School, where he excelled in football and baseball. He loved to share stories of the glory days from East Fairmont High School when he and his twin brother beat West Side. Garry was a passionate advocate for hunting and fishing. What he enjoyed most was spending time at his camp in Petersburg, WV with his close friends and family. He would spend the winters at his camp, from October to April, only to come back home in April to coach his grandsons in baseball. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 2p.m. until 8p.m. and again on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 11a.m. until 12 noon. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 12 noon. A graveside service will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Fairmont, WV.
