Obituary of Mark A. Bolyard

Mark A. Bolyard, 71, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on June 1st at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Mark was born on April 3, 1955 to A. Lawrence and Wilsie Campbell Bolyard. Surviving Mark are his wife of 50 years Faith Ann Amos Bolyard, his sons Andrew (Brittney) of Louisville, KY, and Matthew (Tracy) Bolyard of Graham, NC. He was a very proud PaPa to his grandsons, Jack, Josh, Noah and Sam of Louisville and Logan and Ashton of Graham. Also surviving him are sisters-in-law Holly Amos and Jenny Amos, brother-in-law David Schoewe, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mark was a lifelong resident of Barrackville, graduating from Barrackville High School in 1973. He served the town he loved as a councilman and mayor for many terms. He enjoyed being involved in volunteer coaching including t-ball teams and church league basketball. Mark enjoyed following the Mountaineers, Steelers, and Pirates and any sport his sons and grandsons were involved in. First and foremost, Mark was a follower of Jesus Christ. He was a member of Barrackville United Methodist Church for many years serving in many capacities. In the most recent years Mark was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he served as a trustee. Always serving, always helping, loving others, smiling, a loyal friend, this is Mark’s legacy. To his boys he was a loving and devoted Dad and PaPa and a true love and best friend to his wife. In keeping with his service to others Mark chose to be an organ donor. Mark worked as a machinist, retiring from Aurora Flight Science in 2022. Preceding Mark were his parents, brother Larry, niece Lindsay and in-laws Albert and Frances Amos, a brother-in-law Jeff Amos and sister-in-law Janice Amos. The family wishes to thank those who have shared their love, prayers and support with them. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 2p.m. until 8p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, 500 Pike Street, Barrackville, WV 26559. A funeral service will be held in the church on Friday at 11a.m. with Reverend Dr. David Cyphers as celebrant. Graveside services will follow at Monumental Cemetery.
