Obituary of Kathleen "Kathy" Margaret Dodson

Kathleen “Kathy” Margaret Dodson, 77, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, May 22, 2026 at Manchin Assisted Living in Bridgeport. She was born on January 1, 1949 in Sanford, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Albert R. and Margaret E. Wolford McBeth. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Philip M. Dodson, Jr. She was a proud graduate of Acme-Delco High School and United Technical School, where she studied Nursing. Kathy worked as a Medical Assistant with Dr. Frank Gymesi for many years. She was a faithful member of Bridgeport Presbyterian Church, where she formerly served as a deacon. Kathy had a servant’s heart as she volunteered her time throughout the years at Shepherd’s Corner and Welcome Wagon. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time at Deep Creek Lake, water skiing, cross stitching, walking, traveling with her husband Phil, and spending precious time with her friends and family. In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her daughter June “Nikki” Arbogast and her husband Dana of Bridgeport, son, Robert Dodson of Orlando, FL, Brothers, Jon McBeth of Pine Bluff, NC, and Michael “Mike” McBeth and his wife Elaine of Williamsburg, VA, grandchildren, Emily Arbogast of Bridgeport, and Olivia Smith and her husband Ty of Bridgeport, as well as one great granddaughter, Madi. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, David McBeth. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s memory to the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church, 1 John Calvin Dr, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport. In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, cremation services will occur.
