He was born in Norfolk, VA on February 13, 1950, one of twin sons of the late Sarah Lynn Boe and Julius Alexander Lorentzson. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Kathryn Hansen Lorentzson, who added a sparkle to his life that never dimmed; his brother, Joseph Lynn Lorentzson and his nephew, Blake Lorentzson, of Orange Park FL; and his large and extended family of reenactors from throughout the country and beyond. He has a loving family in the New Orleans area, including brothers-in-law Karl Hansen; Michael Hansen (Ann); sisters-in-law Peggy Austin (Charles); Jane Morgan (Tim); Elizabeth Laird (Michael); and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was so happy to be a part of the family. Julius graduated from Florida State University, with a B.A. in History, and had a distinguished career working for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Clarksburg WV. Julius and Kathy loved to travel. They made frequent trips to New Orleans to visit and celebrate with family. Their travels together have taken them to all fifty states, as well as several other countries. He had a lifelong passion for learning and was widely recognized for his knowledge of American History. He expressed this passion as a living history reenactor, authentically portraying characters from Colonial times through WWII. His WWII reenactments included taking his prized, restored Jeep to Normandy for D-Day celebrations, and participating in parades. His most recent passion was his portrayal of an Old West cowboy as a cast member in the annual live action “The Great Durbin Train Robbery”, which he co- created. Julius also acted in short films. The uniqueness of his personality stood out at any gathering, and he was deeply loved by all who knew him. He never met a stranger. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554.
