Obituary of Bonnie Kay (Sharp) Moran
Bonnie Kay (Sharp) Moran, 81, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. She was born in Fairmont on April 4, 1945, a daughter to the late Frank and Katherine Securro Wilson. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Ford, and her second husband, Charles Moran.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Moran and her companion Robbie Cianfrocca of Fairmont, Bonnie Jo Lawson and her husband Scott of Fairmont, and Mark Johnny Ford of Colorado, her step-children, Charlie Moran and Sherry Moran, her grandchildren, Spencer Lawson and his wife Brooke of Fairmont, Ty Lawson of Fairmont, and Kristen Lawson and her companion Eric Marshall of Fairmont. Bonnie is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jase and Cameron, her siblings, Ronald Wilson of Fairmont, Jim Wilson and his wife Debbie of Fairmont, Rosemary and her husband Dr. Geoff Ruben of Fairmont, and Kathy Davis and her husband Duane of Fairmont, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Bonnie was preceded in death by her infant son, David Allen Moran.
Bonnie was a factory worker for many years with Westinghouse and Ruskin in Fairmont. She was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and a Christian by faith. Her legacy has always been family and her love of cooking, especially Italian dishes. She was known as the “best cook ever”. She was a lover of all animals and always accepted any stray cat that came around. More recently, she enjoyed traveling with her companion, Butch Hennigan. Most of all, Bonnie loved being surrounded by her close friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in Bonnie’s name to the Marion County Humane Society at 2731 Locust Ave, Fairmont, WV 26554.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 2p.m. until 8p.m. and again on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A funeral service will be held for Bonnie on Wednesday at 11a.m. with Elder Pete Greynolds as celebrant.
