Obituary of Winifred "Cookie" Marie Parsons

Winifred “Cookie” Marie Parsons, 82, of Barrackville, West Virginia passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. She was born December 3, 1943 in Mt. Claire, WV a daughter of the late Charles Edward Miller and Luella Pearl Starr Miller. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harold “Lynn” Parsons. She is survived by her son and daughter in law Jeff and Ann Parsons of Barrackville, WV, a brother and sister in law Charles and Cheryl Miller of Mt. Claire, WV, four sisters and three brother in laws Marlea and Jim Wheeler of Elkins, WV, Emma Charlene and Rodney McCall of Lost Creek, WV, Jeanne Wyne of Fairmont, WV and Janice and Larry Cawthon of Mt. Claire, WV, four grandchildren Jeffrey Lynn Parsons and his wife Tiffany of Lumberport, WV, Ashley Nicole Glass of Shinnston, WV, Renzy McRae Cochran of Fairmont, WV and Rhyan McKinley Cochran of Fairmont, WV, eight great grandchildren Abigail Glass, Aiden Glass, Jade Parsons, Maxum Parsons, Mason Cox, Ezra Parsons, Elias Parsons and Madalynn Cox. Mrs. Parsons was a former Nurse Manager for the HealthSouth Mountainview. She attended the Stonewood United Methodist Church. Cookie was a 1961 graduate of Lost Creek High School and a 1964 graduate of the St. Mary’s School of Nursing Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. There will not be a public visitation or funeral service. A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sherman Goodwin as Celebrant in the Stonewall Park Cemetery, Cost Avenue, Stonewood, WV 26301.
