Obituary of Helen Munza Spevock
Helen Munza Spevock, 96, of Fairmont passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont. She was born in Montana Mines on January 9, 1930, a daughter of the late Thomas and Victoria Munza.
Helen is survived by her sons, Thomas Lee Spevock and his wife Nancy of Montana Mines and David Lynn Spevock and his wife Debra Ann of Montana Mines; grandchildren, Bradley Thomas Spevock and his wife Nicole, David Spevock and his companion Emily, and Dustin Spevock; and great-grandson, Benson Spevock.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Spevock; brothers, Stanley, Vincent, Walter, John, and Joe Munza; and sisters, Josephine Clayton and Mary Munza.
Helen worked as postmaster at the Montana Mines Post Office and previously at G.C. Murphy Co. in Fairmont. She was a member of Montana Mines United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for over 35 years. Helen was a member of the Montana Improvement Association and Easter Seals Society. She was a former girl scout leader who enjoyed sewing and working on crafts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Helen’s memory to Pleasant Acres Christian Haven, 41 Pleasant Acres Dr., Fairmont, WV 26554.

The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 12 noon. A private committal service will take place at Montana Mines Cemetery at a later date.
