Obituary of Charles "Chuck" Richard Prenatt, Jr.
Charles “Chuck” Richard Prenatt, Jr., 76, of Fairmont, passed away at home on January 14, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1949 in North Apollo, PA, the son of the late Charles R. and Marian R. Basinger Prenatt. Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife in 2016, Rev. Cheryl “Cheri” L. Prenatt.
Chuck had eleven brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Chuck married the love of his life, Cheryl (Cheri) Stewart in 1975. They were married for forty beautiful years. They had wonderful children. Aaron Prenatt, Amy Prenatt-Michaux. He is survived by his sister law; Cassandra (Sandi) and Bill Wagner their children: Jordan, Max, Olivia.
Chuck was born in North Apollo, PA. Later his family moved to Indiana, PA. He served in the US Army for two years, stationed in Germany. He moved to Fairmont, WV and worked for Hills Department Store for thirteen years. He worked as a letter carrier for the Post Office for twenty- five years and retired in 2013. Chuck’s creative hobbies were stained glass, gardening, and building. He built many puppet stages. He wrote two puppet shows for his family’s Christmas Eve celebration. Twenty years ago, he developed and built a home in White Hall, WV, where they lived for many years. After Cheri’s passing, he was a Volunteer Chaplain at United Hospital Center.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with Chuck’s wishes, cremation services will occur. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 12 Noon with Mr. David Prenatt officiating. A service of committal will follow in the Mt.
