David Workman

Obituary of David Edward Workman

David Edward Workman, Jr., 56, of Grant Town, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1969, in Fairmont, the son of David Edward Workman, Sr. and Kathleen Reay Wilson Workman. David was the kind of person who never met a stranger and could make friends wherever he went. He loved deeply and lived life with excitement, laughter, and a little bit of adrenaline. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Sabrina Workman; his daughters, Tiffany Harris and her husband, Zachary, of Grant Town, and Devony Workman of Clarksburg; his precious granddaughter, Reaygan Harris, who was the light of his life; his bonus daughter, Katie Dotson; and his beloved cat, Kawi. David was a graduate of North Marion High School and Fairmont State College. He proudly served as a corrections officer in Marion County for nearly 10 years. His love for baseball started at a young age and carried on into adulthood when he played slow-pitch softball at Windmill Park. He loved riding his motorcycle, especially with his father; if it had a motor, speed, or a little danger, David was all in. From racing or watching motocross, his blood truly bled green for Kawasaki. A thrill-seeker at heart, he loved amusement parks, haunted houses, and flying. David was also a passionate sports fan and collector, faithfully cheering on the Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Above all else, David loved his family and friends. He cherished time spent together, whether it was riding, watching sports, laughing, or just being together. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in David’s memory through GoFundMe at GoFundMe.com/daveworkman. In true David fashion, we invite everyone to come together to celebrate his life on January 31, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Baxter VFD, 2741 Paw Paw Creek Road, Rivesville, WV 26588.
