Marvin Lemley

Obituary of Marvin Eugene Lemley

Marvin Eugene Lemley, 94, of White Hall, went to be with his God, the son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit on December 25, 2025, with his daughter and son in law by his side. His hope was to be reunited with his wife, Naomi that went before him in April of 2021. Marvin was born in Waynesburg, PA to Genevieve Lemley Foley. His step-father, Clyde Foley and sister, Ellen Foley Campbell were very much part of his family and life. Those who went before Marvin were his mother, Genevieve; step-father, Clyde Foley; brothers-in-law, Harold Campbell and Joe Tuttle; sister-in-law, Alberta Suplita; mother-in-law, Fledra Cora Wilson and her husband and his best friend, Lloyd Wilson; and Naomi’s father, Glen Tuttle. Marvin was close with his Uncle John Lemley and his cousin, Edna Lemley. Marvin graduated from Clay-Battell High School and the machinist school in Shinnston. After Marvin and Naomi were married, they resided in Key West, FL. During this time, Marvin was in the U.S. Navy where they welcomed a daughter, Sherry Lee. After their return to West Virginia, Marvin was employed by Schumberger and traveled a lot in the oil industry. He was transferred to Effingham, IL and then to Huntington, WV where he and Naomi welcomed a son, Scott Eugene to their family. Marvin then worked and retired with his wife at Westinghouse and North American Phillips as a machine attendant. During Marvin and Naomi’s retirement, they traveled with their camper to many of the states, including two trips to Alaska. Marvin was an avid fisherman. He and Naomi purchased a home in North Fort Myers, FL where they enjoyed many new friends and their church, First Assembly in Fort Myers. Naomi socialized with her women’s group and Marvin enjoyed fishing on his boat with his buddies. They returned to their home that Marvin built West Virginia when Naomi’s health started to fail in 2018. In 2023, Marvin had the harvest of his largest buck, an 8 point, on the family farm. Marvin was devoted to Naomi for 67 years until her passing in 2021. She was his wife, mother of his children, best friend, and traveling buddy. Marvin and Naomi were members of Trinity Assembly of God in White Hall. They were dedicated to their faith and Jesus Christ, their savior. Those left to cherish Marvin’s memory are his brothers-in-law, David Tuttle, Tim Tuttle, and Andrew “Frank” Suplita; sister, Ellen Campbell and her daughter Valerie Sisler and her husband Rick; daughter, Sherry Efaw and her husband Tim; son, Scott; and granddaughter, Stephanie. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Marvin’s memory to the American Heart Association or to American Parkinson’s Disease Association. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their devotion in the medical care of Marvin. They would also like to extend their appreciation to the Taylor Healthcare Center in Grafton for their love and care of Marvin during his last year. Marvin had four ladies that were very special friends, Linda, Lisa, Karen, and Linda, may God bless them for their kindness!
