Obituary of Billy "Red" Joe Allen, Jr.

Billy “Red” Joe Allen, Jr., 56 years of age, of Morgantown, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. He was born on September 20, 1969 in Fairmont, the son of Billie Joe Allen, Sr. and Brenda Joyce Tichenor Allen. Billy affectionately known as “Billy Red” or just “Red”, was a hardworking and talented man who took pride in his work as a magnificent welder with Boeg Trucking in Grandville. He was known for his strong work ethic, skill, and dedication. Billy was a proud 1989 graduate of Morgantown High School and earned his welding certification from Morgantown Technical School. He was also a member of the Mountaineer Dart Association. In his free time, Billy loved the outdoors and the simple joys of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing darts, and cooking or grilling, especially when surrounded by family and friends. Billy is survived by his significant other, Beverly Prendergast; his sister Dixie Holbert and her husband Robert Holbert; and his sister Tammy Allen and significant other, Seth Boyles. He is also survived by his stepson, Robert Ledsome and his wife Kayla Ledsome, Crystel Wade, brothers-in-law, Roy Winfield, and JD Rittenhouse, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his sisters, Tina Winfield, and Amanda Rittenhouse; his great nephews, Greyson Allen, and Alex Uphold; and both sets of grandparents. Billy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. Friends will be received on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 5 pm until 8 pm and again on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 10 am until 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with Reverend David Stilgenbauer officiating. A service of committal will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens.
