Obituary of Chester Lee Showalter

Chester Lee Showalter, 69, of Fairmont, passed away at home on Monday, December 22, 2025. He was born on April 30, 1955 in Fairmont, the son of the late James C. and Madelyn M. Osborn Showalter. Chester was a proud 1973 graduate of Rivesville High School and worked as a laborer at Ruskin Manufacturing in Fairmont for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed cheering on the WVU Mountaineers, as he was an avid fan. Chester is survived by his son, James C. “J.C.” Showalter of Rivesville, granddaughter, Kyrstin Showalter of Morgantown, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Frederick Showalter, Sr. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with Chester’s wishes, cremation services will occur. A private service of remembrance will be held for the family at a later date.
