Obituary of Karen Dian Saporito

Karen Dian Saporito, 47, of Fairmont, passed away at home on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1978 in Fairmont, the daughter of Terry W. and Jill E. Powell Saporito. In addition to her parents, Karen is survived by her sister, Sarah Saporito Ross, uncle and aunt, Timothy and Nan Martin, nieces, Zoey, Cheyenne, and Talia Stutler, special friends and caregiver, Racquiel and William “Bill” Horton, as well as special friends, Mary Carpenter, and Robert “Bob” Reed, all of Fairmont. Karen was a proud 2009 graduate of North Marion High School. She loved music, colored party lights, traveling, and being read stories. She was an exceptional listener and never knew a stranger. Karen will be remembered for her radiating smile that impacted all who knew her. The family would like to thank Karen’s most recent nurses Kevin Davis and Mark Myers, as well as WV Home Health for all their love and care. Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jackson C. Powell, Sr. and Clara “Louise” Powell, and John A. Saporito and Mildreth R. Powell Saporito, great grandmother, Clara Stewart, uncles, Jackson C. Powell, Jr., and Gary L. Saporito, aunt, Dian Bissett, as well as her sister’s fiancé, Daniel Stutler, and Karen’s special friend, Roger Carpenter. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with Karen’s wishes, cremation services will occur. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 12 Noon until 2PM. The celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 2 PM with Reverend Jim Zinn officiating.
