Carrie Fisher

Obituary of Carrie Belle Fisher

Carrie Belle Fisher joined her husband in Heaven on December 11th 2025. She was the last cherished member of her family's generation. She was born on October 5, 1929 in Boyer's Pa. to the late Arthur and Alma Sidley. She was a long time member of Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church . She married the love of her life, Robert W. Fisher on February 5, 1947 who preceded her in death in 2016. They were married 69 years. She was a devoted wife who packed and moved her family whenever Bob's job required it --which was a lot. She was a loving and caring mom to Bill (Adrean) Fisher, Gary (Susan) Fisher, and Dottie (Chris) Alasky. A loving grandmother to Rob (Laurie) Fisher, Wendy (Chuck) Frisby, Sam Yanna (deceased), Dylan (Taylor) Alasky and Laura Alasky. Carrie was cherished by her great- grandchildren William (Britany) Westenrieder, Robert (Meghan) Westenrieder, Alex (Steven) Swank, Sydney Fisher, Madison Yanna (Chandler Higginbotham), Elijah LaPointe, and Kennedy Alasky, as well as her great-great-grandchildren Natalie, Parker and Annie Westenrieder and Wesley Higginbotham. After Bob's retirement, Carrie and Bob spent many years in the crafting business and enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. She was a member of the "Sew Chicks", a group of ladies from her church that made lap quilts for hospice and nursing home patients. When the group dissolved, Carrie continued making these beautiful quilts at home. She has donated over 40 quilts. Mom loved watching the birds, deer and squirrels in her backyard and enjoyed all wildlife. She especially had a tender heart towards her cats Mittens and Bogey. Mom was a generous and kind person with a loving heart. She loved spending time with her family. Her most recent joy came from spending time with Madison and Wesley who she loved dearly. To say we're all going to miss her doesn't even touch upon the empty space she leaves behind. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. A private graveside service will be held for the family in Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler, PA. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
