Obituary of Joe Carlton Hendershot

Joe Carlton Hendershot, 84, of Benton’s Ferry, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at his residence. He was born December 19, 1940 in Mannington, WV a son of the late Elven A. and Fannie L. Greene Hendershot. Joe is survived by his wife of 24 years, Pamela “Pam” Kay Bingamon Hendershot. Joe was a veteran with the United States Army and was a 1958 graduate of Mannington High School. He retired from United Dairy with over 35 years of service where he was a stock loader and driver. He previously worked at the Fairmont Box Factory and Dairymart. Joe loved watching football and sporting events with his furry companion, Minnie. He enjoyed golfing with friends and was an avid WVU and Steeler fan. Joe loved spending time with his friends and family, but especially his grandchildren and his special grandson Shawn Richard Brunett. In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his daughters, Barbara “Bobbi” Wolf of Iowa, and Teresa and her husband Dave Caisse of Illinois, his mother-in-law, Doris Bingamon, his step-daughter, Heather and her husband Chad Brunett of Fairmont, his step-son, Frank and his wife Janice Willis of New Mexico, his grandchildren, Shawn Brunett, Courtney Brunett, Robert Wolf, Matt Willis, Rachel Zelibor, Rebekkah Willis, David Caisse, Jr., Paul Caisse, Sean Caisse, Ashley Wolf-Seely, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Ester Clark of Burton, Terry and his wife Mary Hendershot of Fairview, Carol and her husband Don Cyphers of Mannington, Mark and his wife Carrie Ann Hendershot of Fairmont, and Stephen and his wife Debbie Hendershot of TN, as well as his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Poole, Regina Murphy, and Tracey Six. Joe was preceded in death by his previous wives, Sally Gorby Hendershot and Patti Drain Hendershot, his sister, Eleanor Squires-Keener, his step-son, Shawn M. Moore, his step-daughter, Amanda S. Willis, his father-in-law, Charles "Buck" Bingamon, his brothers-in-law, William E. Bingamon and Charles “Chuck” Bingamon, and his twin grand-daughter, Amy and Erin Wolf. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 11AM until 1PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home at 1PM with Pastor Bill Toothman and Pastor Ralph Fouse officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont, WV where military honors will be held by the Marion County Veterans Council.
