Obituary of Reva Mae Offutt Moon
Reva Mae Offutt Moon, 96, of Barrackville, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1929 in Fairmont, the daughter of the late John and R. Grace Collins Offutt. Reva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, T. Elwood Moon.
Reva was a proud 1947 graduate of East Fairmont High School and attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, TN. She was a lifelong member of the Fairmont First Church of the Nazarene, from age 4. Reva faithfully served as a Sunday School Teacher, beloved pianist, from the early age of 10, and as a joyous member of the choir. Elwood and Reva were active in the Barrackville Community, where both their businesses and home were located.
Reva started her working career at Westinghouse, but soon became an operator at AT&T Telephone Company in Nashville, TN, transferring to C&P Telephone Company upon her return to Fairmont, where she served as a phone operator and later in the business office. She became a homemaker upon raising her children. Reva then returned to the workforce as a receptionist with City National Bank and later in the savings department. After her retirement, Reva and Elwood enjoyed winters as Florida snowbirds and summers at the Summersville church camp.
Reva is survived by her son, Rodney G. Moon and his wife Charlotte of Charlotte, NC; daughter Kimberly J. Kincell and her husband Donald of Morgantown; grandchildren, Marcy Moon Turner and her husband Adam of Raleigh, NC; Jared Moon and his wife Heather of Charlotte, NC; Kiri Kincell of Morgantown, WV; Keely Kincell Tran and her husband Thomas of Grand Rapids, MI; Kelsie Kincell Price and her husband Ethan of Kingwood, WV; great grandchildren, Jude and Isaac Turner, Philip and Vera Price, Eden Tran, and great grands on the way, Harrison Price and Baby Tran. She is also survived by her brother, Russell J. Offutt and his wife Glafre of Fairmont, sister, Beulah Offutt Johnson of Chattanooga, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Reva was preceded in death by her twin sister, Alma Offutt Radcliffe and her husband Virgil; sister, Zella Offutt Tolbard and her husband Race; brother, Robert “Dale” Offutt and his wife Glenna; and brother-in-law, Willard Johnson.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to Amedysis Hospice, especially to Jill, Rayna, and Kayla, but to all who loved on mom in her final months.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the Fairmont First Church of the Nazarene, 1604 Morgantown Avenue, Fairmont, WV, from 3 pm until 8 pm and again on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 10 am until 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the church on Wednesday at 11 am with Reverend Andy Newman officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Cemetery & Mausoleum.
