Obituary of Todd Edward Herron

Todd Edward Herron, of Fairmont, West Virginia passed away after a two-year battle with cancer on October 21st at the age of 42. A renowned gardener, there was no seed he wouldn’t try growing. He was known for his creative concoctions of tea, herbs, and jelly at farmer’s markets. Cheerful, he was fiercely loyal to friends at his workplaces and Highlawns United Methodist church. He would greet friends old and new while ringing bells for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season. Todd graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 2001 and achieved the ranks of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor Member with Boy Scouts of America Troop #3 of Baxter. His smile was contagious, and he was known for his hard work and crazy socks at the Disability Action Center where he was employed. He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Kathy Herron; his brother Steve Herron (Dawn) with nephews Archer and Coen; brother Victor (Bethany) Herron; grandfather Rev. Donald Thomas; uncles Roger (Denise) Herron, Marvin (Dale) Thomas, Peter (Angie) Thomas; aunt Darlene (Tom) Marlowe; many cousins and second cousins; family friends Kathy DeJong and Peggy and Kelly Fine. He was proceeded in death by grandparents Troy and Flo Herron and grandmother Montana Thomas. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Disability Action Center (448 Leonard Ave, Fairmont, WV, 26554), Highlawns United Methodist Church (PO Box 485, Rivesville, WV, 26588) or a charity of your choice. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Friends will be received on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 2 pm until 8 pm and again on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 10 am until 11 am.
