Obituary of Marshall Emery Parker, Jr.
Marshall Emery Parker, Jr., 76, of Fairmont, passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, October 16, 2025 in Pensacola, Florida. He was born on September 19, 1949 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of the late Marshall E. Parker, Sr. and Ida M. Lahew Parker. Marshall Parker Sr. was in the island-hopping campaign of World War II. Marshall is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda M. McGee Parker.
In addition to his wife, Marshall is survived by his children, Marshall E. Parker, III of Fairmont, Eric Steven Parker and his wife Kendra of Mannington, WV, and Amber Michelle Parker Perry (Bobby Renner) of Fairmont, his brother Carter Stephen Priester, of Inverness, FL, and his grandchildren Allyson and her husband Jacob Dye of Milton, WV, Marshall Emery Parker IV (Gracie), of Nashville, TN, Rory Grace Parker and Riley Faith Parker both of Mannington He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Sharon Cosco, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by his step-mother, Betty Lou Parker, his brothers, Chester LeRoy Parker and Noel Lemion Parker, and his sister Diane Lynn and her husband Bill Dawson, and sister-in-law, Debbie Parker.
Marshall proudly served as a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps, where he toured as a Combat Veteran of the 77 day siege of Khe Sanh (Red Clay) in the Vietnam War. Upon return to the states, he attended Fairmont State College. Marshall was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairmont. He retired as a Captain with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department with over 32 years of service.
Marshall was member of Acacia Lodge #157 A.F.&A.M., he was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Orient #9 R.A.M., Crusade #6 Knights Templar of Fairmont, he was a Noble of the Nemesis Shrine Center.
He was a member of the W.V. Blue Knights Chapter 2, KheSanh Veteran Reunion “Red Clay”. He was happiest on his motorcycle traveling across country. He enjoyed Hunting, boating, and just being outdoors. He loved spending time with hid friends and family, and he loved being “Pap”.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Friends will be received on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 11AM until 7PM and again on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 10 am until 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 am with Del Parris officiating. A service of committal will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, where full military honors will be rendered by the Marion County Veterans Council.
