Mr. Little (he was always Mr. Little to me) was a special Wood County Schools friend to many. I’m honored to be included in that circle. I was intimidated as a young principal by the perceived gruffness but learned in my thirteen years as a central office colleague that he had a heart of gold … not monetary gold … but a genuine concern for all who passed through Wood County Schools. We worked well together on Bond Issues and the High School renovations, plus the excess levy. I kept York Peppermint Patties in my office for him. Sometimes he just needed to take a walk from his office to get a different perspective on an issue and we had some good talks. A great human.
