Obituary of Thomas Franklin Felda

Thomas Franklin Felda, 75, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born on January 28, 1950 in Everettsville, WV, the son of the late Everett L. and Lorraine V. Dorsey Felda. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Karen A. Freeland Petracca Felda. In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his biological children, Crystal Felda, Jennifer Messenger and her husband Kevin, Tom Felda, Lori Felda, Raymond Knapp and his wife Lisa, Leo Felda, Johnathan Felda, and Laura Bentley and her husband Ernest, stepchildren, Joe Petraaca and his wife Kathy, Cherly Stickley, Tonia Sanders and her husband Jamie, and Shaun Petracca. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan and Michael Messenger, Ari Felda, and Brian and Jessica Bentley, step grandchildren, Sophia Curry and her husband Cameran, Anna Sanders, Emma Sanders, Christopher Raines and his wife Katie, Gaven, Jenna, and Hannah Petracca, Angela Lee and her husband Deshaun, Joe Petracca and his wife Courtney, Tony Petracca and his wife Kaety, great grandchildren, Ethan and Silas Rains, and Ty, Kaden, and Zander May, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Thomas proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired supervisor at Patton Building Services. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2373 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 629. In his free time, he enjoyed playing billiards, and spending time with his friends and family. Thomas will be missed by many, including his neighborhood children, who referred to him as “Mr. Tom”, for the sweet treats he provided to them. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Estes. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with Thomas’s wishes, cremation services will occur.
