Obituary of Charles Michael "Mike" Tatterson

Charles Michael “Mike” Tatterson, 75 of Bridgeport WV, formerly of Sebring, FL, passed away on September 16, 2025 at the home of his son, in Hilliard, OH. He was born on January 3, 1950 in Fairmont, WV the son of the late Charles Raymond Tatterson and Julia Mae (Stevens) Tatterson. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Terrie J. (Radford) Tatterson. Mike was a member of the Coons Run Baptist Church in Adamsville, WV. He retired in 2014 from Murray Energy, previously Consol Coal Company where he was a coal miner for over twelve years, and a maintenance foreman for over 32 years. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his camp in Cowen, WV for over 13 years. He later lived in Sebring, FL for over ten years. He loved fishing in Florida and hunting with his sons and friends in West Virginia and Ohio. Mike was a very hardworking man. He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his children: Jason and his wife Monica of Mentor, OH, Bronson and his wife Jenny of Hilliard, OH, and Britt and her wife Jennifer of Mebane, N.C; his grandchildren, Staton and his wife Kat, Kyle and his wife Abbye, and Kayla Aucreman, as well as four great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Moorehead of Mansfield, OH as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his biological mother, Patricia Ann Tatterson, his brother, William Tatterson, and his sister, Eloise Jeffries. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. According to his wishes, cremation services will take place. Friends and family may visit at the Coons Run Baptist Church 2142 Adamsville Road Shinnston, WV, 26431 on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11AM-12PM. A memorial service will be held in the church on Saturday at 12PM with Pastor Jason Tatterson. Interment will take place at a later date at the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum in Fairmont.
