Obituary of Mildred Alberta Hoffman Frazier
Mildred Alberta Hoffman Frazier, 96, of Fairmont, passed away on her birthday, August 6, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1929, a daughter to the late George L. and Dessie Marie Knotts Hoffman. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Fred Jay Frazier Sr.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mildred was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Jim Hoffman, her sisters, Mae Mangini, Pauline Dodson, and Mary Somerville, and her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Frazier.
She is survived by her sons, George Frazier and his wife Sara of Burgettstown, PA., and Fred Frazier Jr of Farmington, WV., her grandchildren, Fred Frazier III, Randy Frazier, Douglas Frazier and his wife Marissa, and Duane Frazier and his wife Angela, her great-grandchildren, Breunn, Ayden, Evie, and Evan Frazier, her brother, Jasup P. “Pete” Hoffman, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mildred had many interests that brought her joy. She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, and had a well-known sweet tooth. She had a green thumb and took great pride in her flowers and plants, always keeping her home surrounded by beauty. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, creating thoughtful and detailed pieces that reflected her creativity and care. Mildred was previously employed by Owens-Illinois Co. and the Stone & Thomas Store in Fairmont, WV. She was a protestant by faith and graduated high school from Okland High School in Oakland, Maryland. Most of all, Mildred loved being surrounded by her close friends and family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday August 8, 2025 from 6p.m. until 8p.m., and on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 11a.m. until 12 noon. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 12 noon. Graveside services will follow at Bayard Cemetery in Bayard, WV.
