Obituary of Gene Jackson Bragg

Gene Jackson Bragg, 89, of Rivesville passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at his home. He was born in Braxton County on February 27, 1936, son of the late Russell and Carrie Singleton Bragg. Gene is survived by his loving wife, Lorena May Riffle Bragg; daughters, Kathy Sue Eddy and Beth Ann Fluharty; grandchildren, Jeremy and Lucas Eddy, Autumn Graham, and Alexis and Jackson Fluharty; great-grandchildren, Dominic and Roman Eddy, Jordan Blankenship, and Ezra Graham; brothers, Kenneth and Charles; and sister, Bernice. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by brother, Boyd, William Frederick, and Bernard and sisters, Helen, Edna Mae, Marjorie, and Carolyn. Gene was a 1955 graduate of Rivesville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked as a coal miner for Bethlehem Mines and enjoyed horses, hunting, and farming. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 2nd and Jasper St., Rivesville, WV 26588. A public graveside service will be held at Arnettsville Cemetery on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. with military honors rendered.
