Obituary of Rossie B. Wilson
Rossie B. Wilson, Jr., 68, of Fairmont went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 24, 1956 in Bridgeport, WV, son of Rossie B. and Dorothy L. Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elaine Wilson. Rossie graduated from Fairmont Senior High School. He went to work at the City of Fairmont Water Department on August 8, 1988. He retired in 2019 as Superintendent of Water and Sewer Field Services Department. After retirement he was ask to be a mentor for the Town of Whitehall – Public Works. He later became a consultant for the Town of Whitehall – Public Works.
Rossie attended Eldora United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Marion County Beekeepers Association. Rossie enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, beekeeping, gardening, and being involved in activities with his wife and children.
In addition to his wife, Rossie is survived by his children Trey, Heidi, Jayden, and Emma Wilson; one grandchild Maverick Wilson. Also survived by his siblings Cecil & Patty Wilson, Pam & Don Courtney, Randy & Michelle Wilson, Vicki & John Geary, Rusty & Kim Wilson, Mike & Bo Williams. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, many friends including his Sherwood Lake family, and his church family.
The family would like to thank the Providers and Staff at both United Hospital Center (UHC) and the Heart & Vascular Institute at WVU for the care provided to Rossie, along with the Taylor and Marion County Rescue Squads.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rossie’s memory can be made to the Marion County Beekeepers Association at 194 Bridge Street, Fairmont, WV 26554, or the Eldora United Methodist Church at 72 Pear Tree Lane, Fairmont, WV 26554.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 1p.m. until 7p.m., and again on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 9a.m. until 10a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10a.m. with Reverend Dr. Michael Richards officiating.
