Obituary of Richard Earl Ash

Richard Earl Ash, 70, of Grafton, formerly of the Middleville Community, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Rosewood Center in Grafton, WV. He was born September 3, 1954 in Bridgeport, WV, a son of the late Davis Lyle and Beulah Loverna Prunty Ash. Richie was a life-long member of the Middleville Baptist Church where he attended with his family. He spent most of his life on the family farm where he helped care for and lived with his mother until her passing. Richie enjoyed any and all farm work. He was a meticulous grass cutter, an expert gardener and loved caring for the chickens, hogs, and cows. He was a very generous person and was always willing to help anyone with anything. Richie loved to listen to music especially country music and classic rock and roll. Richard is survived by his sister, Roberta and her husband Cleve Humphrey of Bridgeport, his brothers Larry Davis and his wife Denise Ash of Rhode Island, and Lester Ray Ash of Bridgeport. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Laura, Samantha, Caleb, Christopher, and Chad. The family has entrusted the services to Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV. Friends and family may visit on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 11 AM until 1PM at the Middleville Baptist Church, 1327 Middleville Road, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The funeral will be held in the church at 1PM with Pastor Paul J. Boyles officiating. Interment will follow in the Middleville Baptist Church Cemetery.
