Obituary of Patricia LaVaughn Rice

Patricia LaVaughn Rice, 89, formerly of Fairmont, WV passed away July 8, 2025 in Roanoke, VA. She was a daughter of Willis Roy and Marjorie Lorraine “Smith” Griffin. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Alva Junior Rice. Patricia was a loving wife and mother and homemaker. She was a graduate of Morgantown High School and a Methodist by faith. Patricia is survived by her son Dr. Timothy and Robyn Rice and two daughters Tina & Robert Stuart and Tonya & Timothy Cooke. Six grandchildren Lindsay Stuart Wiles (Stephen), Landon R. Stuart (Cassidy), Laryn “Roonie” Stuart Metzler (Robert), Taylor Griffin Baumgardner, Dr. Tommi Cooke Robson (David), and Tia Cooke Manahane (Jason), and 11 great-grandchildren In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by her daughter in law Lahale “Holly” Rice. Memorial contributions may be made in remembrance of Patricia to the Marion County Humane Society 2731 Locust Avenue Fairmont, WV 26554.
