Obituary of Kit Norman Thompson

Kit Norman Thompson, 67, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born September 4, 1957 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late Raymond Daniel and Virginia Knoble Thompson. Kit was employed in the construction industry where he worked in masonry and was able to build anything that could be dreamed up. He later worked at Save-A-Lot as a stockperson. He attended Fairmont Senior High School. Kit enjoyed riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers. He loved fishing and being in the outdoors. Kit was survived by his siblings Raymond and Mabel Thompson of Fairmont, Jennifer and Arthur Backman of Fairmont, and Deborah Hinerman of Worthington, and his brother-in-law-Robbie Long of Fairmont. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his sister Marie Long. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV.
