Obituary of Theresse Louise "Terry" Adamson
Theresse Louise “Terry” Adamson, 82, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025.
Born on February 6, 1943, in Kansas City, Kansas, Terry was known for her spunky and courageous spirit, quick wit, and boundless determination. She brought warmth and humor into the lives of everyone she met.
Terry spent the majority of her adult life in San Diego, California, where she proudly raised three children and worked as a dedicated government employee for over three decades. After retirement, she and her beloved husband Jim made their home in Clarksburg, West Virginia. There, Terry found joy in tending her garden and feeding the local wildlife—hobbies that reflected her nurturing nature and love for the outdoors.
Of all her life’s accomplishments, Terry’s greatest joy was her three children and being their mother. She also delighted in watching her grandsons grow into the kind, capable young men they are today.
Upon settling in Clarksburg, Terry and Jim became active members of Simpson Creek Baptist Church. With a deep love for music and a heart devoted to service, Terry sang in the church choir for many years, joyfully lifting her voice in praise.
Terry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Adamson, and her brother, Timothy McBratney. She is survived by her brother, Dennis McBratney; her daughter, Stacey Marner, and son-in-law, Daniel Marner; her son, Jamie Adamson; her daughter, Eugenia Adamson; and her cherished grandsons, Paxton and Noah Marner.
Terry’s legacy of strength, humor, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society.
