Obituary of Clyde Earl Strother II

Clyde Earl Strother II, 64, passed away quietly on June 15, 2025. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on April 3, 1961, the son of the late Clyde E. Strother Sr. and Ruby Adeline Shaffer Strother. Clyde grew up in Peora in Harrison County, and Hastings in Wetzel County where he attended Valley High School. After graduation he worked for CNG Transmission Corporation for over 15 years. Clyde is survived by his sister Jennifer Lawson and husband Brad of Bridgeport, nieces Ashley Lawson Quattro and husband Chris of Elkins, and Kara Lawson-Issac and husband Brent of South Hills Pittsburgh. During his lifetime, Clyde enjoyed spending time with his dog Malachi, exploring new technologies, and operating stage lighting with the Children’s Choir Musicals at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. He also took an interest in photography and loved to travel with friends to the beach and to WV parks, especially Valley Falls State Park. The family would like to thank the many people who supported and encouraged Clyde as he lived with the complications of diabetes, especially the staffs of UHC, Fresenius Medical Care, Harmony of White Oaks and River Oaks Healthcare Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport. A service will be held for the family at a later date.
