Obituary of Beverly J. (Grooters) Ferrell

Beverly J. (Grooters) Ferrell, 93, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1931 in Wales, North Dakota, the daughter of the late George W. and Leone E. Platz Grooters. Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years on January 1, 2013, Joseph R. Ferrell, Sr. Beverly spent her adult life as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived and will be sorely missed by her seven sons, Joseph (Candace) Ferrell, Jr., of Christiansburg, VA, John (Susan) Ferrell of Vancouver, WA, David (Kathy) Ferrell of Bridgeport, Paul (Roberta) Ferrell of Bridgeport, Robert Ferrell of Indianapolis, IN, Stephen (Laurence) Ferrell of Knoxville, TN, and Daniel (Tamela) Ferrell of Bridgeport; as well as eight grandchildren: Rebecca, Matthew, Rachel, Nathan, Joseph (III), Lauren, Thomas, and Caroline, and one great-grandchild, Jacob. Beverly is also survived by her sisters, Lynne Irvine of Downers Grove, IL, and Susan Flanagan of Alexandria, MN, along with several nieces and nephews. Beverly was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry, Gary, and Roger Grooters. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at the All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11 am with Reverend Father Walter Jagela presiding.
