Obituary of Eileen Lea Daugherty

Eileen L. Daugherty, 88, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the Pierpont Center Genesis Health Care Center. She was born on September 17, 1936 in Colfax, WV, the daughter of the late William D. and Phyllis D. Hunter. Eileen is survived by her beloved husband, Leonard L. “Bud” Daugherty. Eileen worked as a homemaker in her own home and formerly at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. In addition to her husband, Eileen is survived by her children, David L. Daugherty, Michael Daugherty and his wife Kristina, and Susan Conley and her husband Sean, all of Fairmont, grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Ryan, and Keira Jo Daugherty, and Nathan and Aaron Conley, all of Fairmont. She is also survived by her siblings, J. Eric Hunter of Colfax, Anne Knotts of Fairmont, and Carol Suters of Tully, NY, brother-in-law, J. Neil Knotts, as well as nieces, Melissa Knotts, Jennifer Bobic, Mary Windon, and Amy Lanham. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, Don Hunter. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. There will not be any public visitation or funeral services. A private service of committal will be held for the family at the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum with Pastor Claude Kinty presiding.
