Obituary of Gary Edsel Stockett

Gary E. Stockett, 66, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born on December 29, 1958 in Levittown, PA, the son of the late Edsel J. and Annabelle W. Staddon Stockett. Throughout Gary’s life, he worked for various companies as a printing press operator. He had a love for the old printing presses and took great pride in the quality of his work. His favorite past times were reading old war novels, trains and spending time with his farm cats, and he was blessed with the comfort of Jesus in his life. Gary is survived by his daughter, Rachel A. Stockett Bedford and her husband William D. Bedford, Jr., two grandsons, William T. and Aiden J. Bedford, sister, Margaret Hibbs and her husband Estel Hibbs, niece, Jennifer Hibbs Blaine and her husband Christopher, and nephew, Stephen Hibbs and his wife Melissa. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mary J. Stockett, and sister, Linda Stockett Southworth. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with Gary’s wishes, cremation services will occur. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Union Rescue Mission,107 Jefferson Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 2pm.
