
Obituary of Charles Marshall "Rab" Snider
Charles Marshall “Rab” Snider, 90, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 23, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1934 in Fairmont, a son of the late George A. and Flossie E. Gross Snider. Rab was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia J. West Snider.
He was a faithful member of Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fairmont, where he served as a longtime treasurer and elder of the church. Rab was also a proud 1952 graduate from Fairmont Senior High School, where he was a member of the West Virginia Basketball State Runner-Up Team his senior year, and attended Fairmont State College. He was a loyal member of “The Squad”, a retired group of guys dedicated to following Fairmont State University Athletics. Rab proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 until 1955. He was VP of Sales with Fairmont Box Company, and later worked in sales at Packaging Services Inc. in Connellsville, PA. After retirement, Rab enjoyed delivering catalogs with Adams Office Supply Company.
Rab is survived by his sons, Charles M. “Charlie” Snider Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Greensboro, GA, James E. “Eddie” Snider and his wife Kathy of Fairmont, and Donald K. “Donnie” Snider and his wife Erin of Parkersburg, daughter, Sally Yost and her husband Mike of Fairmont, 11 grandchildren, Nathan Snider and his wife Ashley, Kristen Snider Darke and her fiancé Kevin Smith, Caitlin Chastain and her husband Jon, Ryan Snider and his wife Erica, Matthew Yost and his wife Moesha, Shannon Yost, Sean Snider and his fiancé Natali Rey, Sarah Snider, Christopher Yost and his wife Casandra, Kate Snider, and David Snider, as well as 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, George A. Snider Jr. and his wife Martha of Huntington.
In addition to his wife and parents, Rab was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca J. Riedeman, and his brother, John R. Snider.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 2 pm until 8 pm. The casket will lie in state at Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1493 Locust Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 10 am until 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the church on Friday at 11 am with Reverend James Morley officiating. A service of committal will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
