Kasey was such a great and brilliant man. I remember reaching out to him out of the blue after reading his early fingerprint articles. I had just graduated college with a degree in forensic chemistry and had found out during my internship that I HATED forensic chemistry and loved the science of fingerprints. I was reading and learning all I could on my own. I wasn’t having any luck finding a job. I had been trying for over six months. Kasey contacted me back and he gave me great advice, pointed me in some different directions, and made some phone calls on my behalf. One of those phone calls ended up panning out for me. I finally got to meet Kasey in person when I attended one of his workshops with Glen. And then of course at conferences and such. I loved his enthusiasm and excitement at getting new people into forensics. My condolences to his family, friends, and all who feel this great loss.

My association with Kasey was limited to the times we met up at various IAI Conferences. I must say that in those brief encounters, Kasey made me feel like the most important person in attendance. He was truly a remarkable gentleman with a great gift for teaching, sharing his experiences and knowledge, and most of all, adventure. Kasey, I'm still not forgiving you for convincing me to ride that crazy roller coaster in Las Vegas... you laughed so hard when you saw the photo of my facial expression once the ride started. May the Lord's love embrace you, your family, and friends during this sad and difficult time. Rest in peace, my friend.

So sad to read about Kasey - My heart goes out to you - a Mom shouldn't bury her son. It was amazing reading all the things he accomplished - he grew up to be an awesome adult, following in Pat's footsteps. It is obvious from reading his Obituary he was a kind, caring young man and a positive influence on so many he came into contact. with Comfort for his family in their time of sorrow.
Y'all's paths went in lots of different directions after leaving Plano. Take care of yourself.

I am really saddened to hear about Kasey's passing. I grew up with Kasey in Plano. We met at church and were at the same school in 9th grade. We were part of a small group of friends who spent weekends hanging out and making great memories. I will always remember his love for Paula Abdul and 80s pop music. It is nice to read that his love of music stayed with him throughout his life.
A few years ago, I was lucky to catch up with him when he visited Dallas and we reconnected again on LinkedIn later. He was still the same kind, thoughtful, and authentic person I knew back then. Kasey had a way of truly listening. He cared about what you had to say and asked questions that showed how much he valued people.
My heart goes out to his family. I hope you find comfort in knowing what a wonderful person Kasey was and the lasting impact he had on those around him. He will be deeply missed.

I am deeply saddened at the loss of Kasey. He was a hard worker with a calm demeanor and I enjoyed working with him. He made my life easier. When he went on medical leave we talked every week and he was upset that he was not able to work or help us out. That’s how dedicated he was. I told him the best way to help is to focus on his health and fighting the cancer and that nothing else mattered. He gave it everything he had in him. I am so glad he was able to rent and drive a Cybertruck before all this happened. He loved talking about Cybertrucks during the many lunches we had in the cafeteria at work. May the cherished memories of Kasey bring his family comfort and strength in the days ahead. As Helen Keller once said, “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Don Reynolds

Kasey taught the first formal comparison course I had in the early 2000's. His teaching gave me confidence and taught me a lot about my own abilities. He had a huge impact and positive influence on my career and took time to introduce me to others at conferences. He did so much for our industry and will be truly missed.

Kasey was such a great guy and hard worker.
During our intense meetings, he would let us all know what the "X of the day" was...
Today is NATIONAL JOHNNY APPLESEED DAY which is probably the one he would've chosen ; )
I will remember him for the rest of my life with a smile.

I worked with Kasey for many years both before and after remote work in different capacities. Kasey was great to work with in person and as a disembodied voice too, keeping things professional, positive, and kind. His family already know this, but he was very proud of you.

I knew Kasey through his work. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his death. He was always so kind and friendly, especially to people new to the work program like myself. He really liked acclimating newcomers, and inclusion and welcoming an outsider is rare nowadays. He will be missed. Condolences to the family in this difficult time.

Kasey was always kind and helpful. He was so easy going and great to work with. He was a light through which our Lord could shine His love, always an encouragement. I know you will miss him but God's plans are perfect. Even in this, Kasey expressed his total trust in the Lord. That's really awesome! May our Lord bring sweet comfort and draw everyone closer to Him through it all!

God speed my friend. I am very glad our world lines crossed paths. I so much enjoyed our many talks and analysis of numerous topics over the years. It is this detail, this very minutia, that was so enjoyable and mentally fulfilling. We always wondered what is possible, what is reasonable, what is doable, and what dare do we try? You challenged me to be my best, to do what is difficult. Thank you for being a great friend, thank you for being you. Your stamp on history… has been profound. Thank you again my friend.

I met Kasey in 1993 at NAU. So many memories made... from night rockets set off in the middle of campus to him being campus security to ensure protection of women and such at night. Outings to go rock climbing. Also visits to Mississippi and West Virginia to be with the family. Kasey was like a brother to me and I am so very very sad to hear of his passing. My prayers are with his loved ones during this time.
