Obituary of Charles W. Hall

Charles W. Hall, 81, formerly of Mannington, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at his home in Barrackville surrounded by his loving family. He was the first born child of the late Charles and Betty Hall of Rivesville. He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, and childhood sweetheart, Joyce Glaspell Hall. Charles was a professional truck driver before becoming a coal miner. He retired from Blacksville #2, Local 1702, Consolidation Coal Company. He served on the Mannington Sanitation Board and initiated the Neighborhood Watch in the Homewood Addition in Mannington. Charles enjoyed country music concerts, dancing, as well as camping and backpacking with best friend Donald Lafferty. He was a devoted husband and father, who always provided well for his family, sometimes working two jobs. He was a quiet and selfless man who only thought of his loving wife and kids. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Reverend Michael (Rebecca) Hall of Florida, his two wonderful children, Cheri (William) Hall-George, and C. Brian (Dianne) Hall, his grandchildren: Courtney Cummins and her fiancé Jason Swann and his son Owen, and his only grandson, C. Dustin Hall, Lindsey (Mitchell) Myers, and Brittany (Brandon) Shaw. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Gage Greynolds who he mentored, Jazlyn, Eliana, and Emberly Myers, and Silas, Daisy and Bellarose Shaw, his brother-in-law, C. David (Rosemary) Glaspell, his aunt, Katherine Hall, and several special cousins. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the care and compassion they extended towards Charles. As per his request, cremation services will take place. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date. His cremains will be inurned at Mt.
