Obituary of William Keener, Sr.

William Keener, Sr., 85, of Rivesville, passed away in his home peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2024. He was born on March 15, 1940, a son to the late Howard and Novella Keener. He was a 1958 graduate of Rivesville High school, and a retired coal miner for Consolidation Coal Company. William was a loving husband and father. He was a member of Hillview Baptist Church, and was a Christian who loved his Lord, Jesus Christ, and served him faithfully for many years. His life was a living example to all who knew him. He also served in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborne. William is survived by his wife Doris, his children William(Debbie) Keener and Michele(Dave) DeMary. He is also survived by three brothers, Jerry, Dave and Richard Keener all of Rivesville. William has four grandchildren, Mark Keener, Chandra Monseau, Brooke Able and Devin Graziani and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his granddaughter Erin Keener. He is also proceeded in death by two sisters, Jacqueline and Barbara and two brothers Don and Danny. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 4p.m. until 8p.m., and again on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 12p.m. until 1p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 1p.m. with Pastor Paul Lucas Officiating.
