I met Alice for the first time a few weeks ago when I finally made it into her wonderful shop to look around. I had two of my children with me, ages 6 & 4. She could not have been more wonderful about them joining me when many may slightly wince at seeing two littles around so many breakable things (I was wincing to myself hoping we would make it out without incident). She was drawn to them and they to her. She let them draw pictures for her on an old desk chalkboard while I looked around, but it was hard to look around when I wanted to watch their interaction with her. She told me how much of a charmer my son was and man did he warm up to her quickly, something very few have ever been able to do. As we were leaving, she kindly walked us out and told them to come back and see her soon and to bring their little brother the next time so she could meet him. It was evident how much she loved children and people in general. They spent the rest of the day talking about Ms. Alice and playing with the chalk. Alice was so kind and I only wish that I had known her longer and taken the kids back one more time. Prayers to her family and those who held her close, she was a gem!
