Obituary of Loretta Mae Steele

Loretta Mae Steele, 87, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at United Hospital Center. She was born on June 2, 1937, in Clarksburg. Loretta is survived by her daughter, Melinda Larosa, and her husband, David, of Atlanta, GA; her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Larosa and Lori Beth Steele; her great-grandchild, Sebastian Larosa; and her sister, Jeanette Reed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mason “Tinker” Steele, and her son, Willis “Willie” Steele. Loretta had a deep love for animals and held a special place in her heart for the many dogs she cherished throughout her life. She also enjoyed playing and managing Bingo games for various local groups over the years. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Harmony at White Oaks and WVU Medicine Hospice for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Loretta’s honor to the Harrison County Humane Society, 2450 Saltwell Road, Shinnston, WV 26431. In accordance with Loretta’s wishes, she will be cremated. A committal service will be held at Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date.
