
Obituary of Angela Diane Murphy
Angela Diane Cable Murphy, 62, of Barrackville, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 in her home. She was born September 16, 1962 in Lexington, KY a daughter of Robert Dale Cable and the late Betty J. Upchurch Cable Bush. She is survived by her loving husband, Timothy R. Murphy.
Angie was a member of the Tree of Life Church in Fairmont. She was a graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School, a 2005 graduate of Fairmont State University with her Bachelors’ of Science, and a 2007 graduate of Mountain State University with her Masters’ Degree. Angie worked for over 14 years with Maximus Contracting Company as a Senior Information Technololgy Specialist.
Angie was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. She was an active volunteer in the community for many activities, but very close to her heart was her support of Barrackville and North Marion Athletics which she continued to be very active with even after her son graduated. She taught Sunday School at church for many years. Angie had an infectious laugh and smile that could uplift your entire mood. Her passion, tenacity, and the loved she showed every individual was palpable. Those who knew her will forever be changed because her spirit and joy for life.
In addition to her husband and father, Angie is survived by her son, Gunner Murphy and his fiancée Alyssa Tennant of Cranberry, PA, her brothers, Bob (Jill) Cable of Bridgeport, WV, Kenny (Brenda) Cable of Pineville, NC, and Chris (Vonda) Cable of Elkins, WV, her sisters, Teresa (Paul) Martin of Newport, NC, her sister-in-law, LeaAnn (Richard) Rohr of Buckhannon, WV, and her father Robert (Lynn) Cable of Buckhannon, WV. As well as her beloved friend, Doris Broscius, her step-father-in-law, Richard Talbott, and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she adored.
In addition to her mother, Angie was preceded in death by her son, Gage Murphy, her brothers Darrell Cable and Tracey Cable, as well as her father-in-law Rodney Murphy and her mother-in-law, Anna Lee Talbott.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to North Marion High School Athletics, 1 North Marion Drive, Farmington, WV 26571.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will take place. Friends and family are welcome to visit on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 11AM until 5PM.
