Obituary of Juanita Virginia (Springer) Satterfield

Juanita Virginia (Springer) Satterfield, 93, of Fairmont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1931, a daughter to the late Felix and Minnie Mae Jarrett Springer. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William, (Bill) Satterfield. She is survived by her children, Gregg Satterfield of Fairmont, Linda Gray and her husband Bill of Bridgeport, her grandchildren, William Nobles and his wife Katie of McDonald OH, and Catherine Gray of Bridgeport, two great-grandchildren, Finn and Griffin Nobles, her brother, Tom Springer and his wife Roxanne of Boothsville, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her brothers, Zack Springer, Charles Springer, and Jarrett Springer, and her sisters, Elouise Lowther, and Margaret Reed. Juanita was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. She and her sisters took pride in running the Lunch Counter at Wood’s Boat House in their early days. Juanita went on to work for C&P Telephone Company as a pioneer/operator, and was a receptionist for the Marion County Senior Center. She enjoyed ceramics, flowers, and cooking. Most of all, Juanita cherished spending time with close friends and family at their Colfax Camp, “Heart’s Content” along the Tygart River. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 10a.m. until 1p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1p.m. with Reverend Jim Zinn officiating.
