Obituary of Sue Ann Lockwood

Sue Ann Lockwood, 70, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at MonGeneral Hospital in Morgantown, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 24, 1954 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Norma R. Flynn and Carl C. Tennant. She was preceded in death by her husband Alan G. Lockwood on January 10, 2018. Sue was a 1973 graduate of East Fairmont High School and was a Methodist by faith. Sue was an insurance agent with Hunter Agency and later with United Security Agency both in Fairmont. She had previously worked as a salesperson with Wilson Ford in Fairmont. Sue had a passion for all animals, she never turned a stray away. Sue loved her family, her two girls meant the world to her, but her two grandsons were her heart. Sue is survived by her two daughters, Lysa A. Lockwood of Pleasant Valley, and Rayan G. Matthews and her companion Michael Cinalli of Pueblo West, Colorado, her two grandsons, Gage Alan Matthews and Gray Michael Cinalli, as well as her sister, Sharon and her husband Gary Smith of Edmond, OK, her brothers-in-law, Gary and his wife Linda Lockwood of Littleton, CO, and Mark and his wife Sandi Lockwood of Houston, TX, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Marion County Animal Control, 1442 East Grafton Road, Fairmont or the Marion County Humane Society, PO Box 905, Fairmont, WV 26555. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 4PM until 8PM, and on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM with Reverend Andrew Tennant officiating. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the Mt.
