Obituary of William "Bill" Henry Hayhurst

William “Bill” Henry Hayhurst, 68, of Rivesville, WV passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home from a brief battle with cancer. Bill was born on October 19,1956 to the late James and Margaret Hayhurst. He is survived by his significant other, Wilma Lou Drummond. Bill is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Scott) Hider of Masontown, and their children Tyler Saville, Dylan & Violet Dubois and Riley & Jacen Hider and his son, Brian (Anna) and their daughter, Kymee. Also surviving is his sister and brother-in-law, Linda & Chilton (Buzz) Adkins, nephew Mike (Crystal) Adkins and niece Anne (Scott) Haynes and Anthony (Abby) Braun and their son, Gabe, who Bill considered family. Bill also considered Wilma’s sons, Jacky (Whitney) and daughters, Quinn & Navy and Joshua (Amanda) Drummond his children. Jacky & Whitney’s daughters, Quinn & Navy affectionally called Bill “Pappy Bill”. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his niece, Brandy Adkins. Bill graduated from Rivesville High School in 1975. He retired from WVU Medicine with over 25 years of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. Friends will be received on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10a.m. until 1p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 1p.m. with Pastor Matt Magmess officiating.
