Paul Edward Adams, Jr., 73, of Fairmont, passed away on March 19. 2026. He was born in Fairmont on July 28, 1952, a son to the late Paul E. and Doris J. Adams. He was a 1974 graduate of Fairmont State University. Paul was employed by Monongahela Power Company in the Planning Engineering Department. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Tygart Lake Country Club. Paul enjoyed all sports and was a volunteer with the athletic department at Fairmont State University. He was also an active amateur radio operator. Paul is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Louise (Swisher) Adams. In addition, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Mary Adams, and their children, Amanda (Daniel) Leslie, Jennifer (Fred) Salentro, and Dr. Jeffery P. Adams, sister-in-law, Lucy (Swisher) Celaschi, and son Jason (Jennifer) Celaschi, brothers-in-law, Andy (April) Swisher, William (Laura) Swisher, and sister-in-law, Glenda (Swisher) Keay. Paul is also survived by special friends, Steve and Rhonda Wilson, as well as two great-nephews. Memorial donations may be made in Paul's name to the Fairmont State Athletic Department, or the Fairmont State University Foundation, 1300 Locust Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. A Celebration of Life will be held in Paul’s memory at Highland Avenue United Methodist Church, 204 Highland Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 12 noon with Pastor Jackie Chambers as celebrant. A memorial luncheon will be held immediately following the celebration of life. There will be a private graveside service at a later date.
