Obituary of Mildred L. "Millie" Jennings

Mildred L. “Millie” Jennings, 93, of the Tygart Center in Fairmont, WV, passed away late Saturday evening. She was born February 5, 1923 in Upshur County, WV, daughter of the late Hershel Ralph and Hazel Dolly Clevenger Coakley. Mrs. Jennings was a member of Gateway United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Fairmont, WV. She earlier served as a hairdresser in Illinois. Mildred was a true farm girl, working the farm with her husband Joe. She also enjoyed family activities. Survivors include 2 brothers; Herschel and his wife Willa Coakley of Burlington, KY and Frank Coakley of Fairmont, WV, 5 sisters; Elizabeth Jean Casto of Akron, OH, Marjorie W. Heaney of Cincinnati, OH, Mary E. Trickett of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Anna L. Vincent of Fairmont, WV, and Ruth and her husband Phil Monell of Fairmont, WV, step-children; Belinda Martel, Thelma Gromer, and Mary McCulley; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Coakley of Louisiana, several step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William B. Coakley and R. Glen Coakley; 3 sisters-in-law, Irene, Lynn, and Diana Coakley; 4 brothers-in-law, Charles Casto, Bud Heaney, George Trickett, and Kenny Vincent; and 2 step-sons; Paul and Ernie Jennings. Family and friends may call at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV from 1pm until 8pm on Wednesday and 10am until 10:30am Thursday. Ritual services for the Order of the Eastern Star will be held in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 10:30am, with Pastor Steve Stemple officiating. Burial will follow in Life Cemetery, Webster County, WV at 2pm.
