Obituary of Emma Pauline Beerbower

Emma Pauline Beerbower, 100, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Morgantown. She was born October 31, 1915 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late John Michael and Emma Cordelia Brown Snoderly. She was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband of 57 years, Paul Gerald Beerbower. Mrs. Beerbower was a 1933 graduate of Barrackville High School. She was “Miss Fairmont” of 1934. She worked at the Jones Department Store in the Charm Shop and was selected for a trip to New York City where she had beauty training under Helena Rubinstein. Upon the birth of her only child, Pauline became a homemaker and immensely enjoyed caring for and participating in her daughter’s activities. She was a lifelong member of Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fairmont. She was a past volunteer with Marion County Meals on Wheels and was an avid sports fan, closely following the WVU Mountaineers Basketball and Football, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Mrs. Beerbower is survived by her only child, Paula Hall and her husband Jarrett R. of Morgantown, step-grandson, Jarrett R. Hall II and his wife Riki, of Morgantown, step-great-granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth Hall, nieces and nephews: Ernestine Hale and her husband Robert, of Melbourne, FL; John Ross Snoderly and his wife Barbara, of Woodbridge, VA; Carol Bell Runyan and her husband Thomas, of Belton, TX; Keith Smith and his wife Nancy, of Hilton, NY; as well as many great, great-great, and great-great-great- nieces and nephews. She was also survived by the beloved family dog, Casey. In addition to her parents and husband Paul Gerald Beerbower, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Kern who was killed in combat during World War II. She was also preceded in death by her twin brother; John Paul Snoderly, sisters; Anna Lucille Snoderly Jones and Dorothy Mae Snoderly Schusler and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give thanks to the many caregivers who have provided love and support for Pauline over the years, with a special thank you to Carol Kinsley. Friends and family may visit at the Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1490 Locust Avenue, Fairmont from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the church on Monday at 11AM with Reverend Rebecca Mihm officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Fairmont, WV.
