Obituary of Betty M. Lewis

Betty May Lewis, better known as “Mom” to everyone, 89, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 7, 1927 a daughter of the late Orval B. and Edith Baker Hoult. She is survived by her husband of 65 years William “Bill” R. Lewis. Betty was a member of the Central United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker in her own home and had previously worked for over 12 years with Westinghouse in the lamp plant. Betty was a member of the “Y Square” Square Dancing Group, the YWCA knitting and craft club. She enjoyed quilting throughout her life as well as spending time at her cabin on the Buckhannon River. In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by her daughter, Debbie Noechel-Roupe and her husband Robert Roupe of Fairmont, granddaughter, Leslie Forquer and her great granddaughter, Emily Kuhn. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Cindy Ginsberg, Penny Taylor, Karen Amormino, and Alan Satterfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Natalie Noechel, a brother, Arthur P. Hoult and her two sisters, Agnes I. Hunsaker and Ruth E. Satterfield. Friends and family may visit at the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 1PM until 8PM and on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 1PM until 2PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 2PM with Reverend Hal Hevener officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
