Obituary of Phyllis L. Taylor

Phyllis L. Taylor went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2017. She died peacefully at Meadowview Manor with family present. She was born on April 4, 1927, twin daughter of the late Charles and Geraldine Warner. James R. Taylor, her husband of 61 years, preceded her in death. Phyllis is survived by their four children: Diane Dilley of Richmond, Va. Sharon Helmick and her husband Ed of Bridgeport, Randy Taylor and his wife Sandy of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mark Taylor and his wife Jennifer of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Michelle Leyva of Richmond, Brad Moritz and wife Tammy of Richmond, Renee' Helmick of Atlanta, Jaime Cava and her husband David of Bridgeport, Marty Helmick and wife Jessica of Charlotte and Justin Glaeser and wife Kirsten of Atlanta. Mrs. Taylor had 11 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, her twin Patricia Taylor and Mary Jo Adams. Phyllis spent most of her years as a hardworking homemaker and a mother of four. She provided for her family in ways that she felt were most important in life. In her later years she enjoyed working outside the home at the Hope Federal Credit Union where she later retired. She was a long-time member of the Simpson Creek Baptist Church where she attended as a child and later met her future husband. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care and love given their mother by the staff of Meadowview Manor. Their continued support during our mother’s time as a resident will never be forgotten. Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Thursday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. C. Michael Hopkins presiding. The interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
