Obituary of Erika Lynn Curtis

Erika Lynn Curtis, 32 years of age of Clarksburg, WV passed away on Saturday, February 04, 2017 at Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. She was born December 10, 1984. She is survived by her son Brycen Samuel Curtis; her father John Curtis and his wife Robin of Bridgeport, WV; her mother Sheila Curtis and her companion Mike Trader of Clarksburg, WV; two step brothers Jeremy Shipp of Bridgeport and Josh Trickett of Grafton, WV; paternal grandmother Betty Curtis of Bridgeport, WV; three uncles Tim Curtis and his wife Roseann of Bridgeport, WV, Eric Grossa of Grafton, WV and Chuck Skinner and his wife Sara of OH; one aunt Patty Nuzum and her husband Don of Bridgeport, WV; two nehews Madix and Broox Trickett of Grafton, WV; four cousins Jeremie Curtis, Jamie Curtis, Curtis Nuzum and Jessica Peterman and Erika’s companion Mark Alderman. Erika was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Jim Curtis and maternal grandparents Pete and Jean Grossa. Erika worked as a waitress at several of the area restaurants including; Minards Spaghetti Inn and Texas Roadhouse. She was an avid West Virginia Mountaineer fan and loved organizing events for family and friends. She never met a stranger and would offer a helping hand to others. Her parents have requested that people be aware that a heroin overdose took the life of their precious daughter. The drug epidemic is destroying our families and our community. Please be aware and do all you can to stop this plague. Trust us, no family is exempt from this heartbreaking possibility. Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Wednesday from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Robert Perine presiding.
