Obituary of James William Seccuro

James William Seccuro, 93, of Fairmont, West Virginia died Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born January 24, 1923 in Kingmont, WV a son of the late Salvatore Seccuro & Rose Beafore Seccuro. He was preceded in death by his wife Camille Fraternali Seccuro. Mr. Seccuro is survived by his son Mark A. Secure of Fairmont, WV, 2 grandchildren Anthony James Secure and Jennifer Elizabeth Secure, many nieces & nephews and his companion Georgetta Pyles of Fairmont, WV. He is also survived by several other special people including Mary Margaret Graziani, Heather Swiger, Amy Pyles, Sarah Evans, Autumn Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Travis “T” Price, Joyce Ridenour, Terri Wise, Brandon Wise, Steven Elliott, Doug Cline, Andy Haught and his family pet dog “Bear”. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers John Seccuro, Domnick Seccuro, Victor Seccuro, Lloyd Seccuro & Joseph Seccuro, 6 sisters Sara Banock, Virginia Olivario, Catherine Zinkus, Mary Nuzum, Flora Fulyter and Iva Cervo. James was a retired Chief Mechanic & Electrician for the Owens-Illinois Glass Company with 37 years of service and was known to many at work as “Chick”. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Fairmont, WV and served in the United States Army during World War II. James graduated in 1940 from East Fairmont High School, a member of the Knights of Columbus Marian Council # 942 & was a fourth Degree Knight and a former member of the Moose Lodge # 9 in Fairmont, WV. He enjoyed all sports and earlier in life celebrated a wonderful career in basketball and boxing. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. A Catholic Vigil Service will be recited in the funeral home Tuesday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 329 Maryland Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554 Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jojan Joseph, C.S.T., Celebrant. The committal service will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fairmont, WV. Full Military Honors will be held in the cemetery by the Military Veterans Council of Marion County.
