Obituary of Kurt and Sally Runde

Kurt and Sally Runde After 55 years of marriage, Kurt Runde, 73 and Sally Runde, 73, passed away months apart - he on September 27, 2015 and she on May 25, 2016. Sally and Kurt’s love story began in Fairmont where they met at Fairmont Senior High School. They were married on September 24, 1960 in Morgantown while Kurt pursued a degree at West Virginia University. Two of their children were born during that time, Barbara and Jeffrey. After graduation in 1964, they moved to Indianapolis and built a life there full of friends and family, including the birth of their third child, Laura. Kurt started his own business, Delta Products, a manufacturer’s representative firm for industrial products. Sally was an account executive with Walker Research. She was also a devoted and selfless caregiver for Kurt as he battled Alzheimer’s and years prior for her mother, Ann Hupp. Kurt and Sally savored life and it’s bounties. They loved to travel, to enjoy music and good food, fishing, art, and most of all sharing laughter and love with those they held dear. They loved one another with patience and passion that only grew as the years passed, a true love story. Sally and Kurt are survived by their three children, Barbara A. (husband, Ed Zepernick) Runde, Jeffrey K. (wife, Marcia) Runde and Laura K. (husband, Jason) Moore; grandchildren, Cale, Holly, Claire, Dylan and Lucy; niece, Jenny Hupp and her daughter Isabella Bryant; cousin, Nancy (partner, Diane Dubus) Fisher; and sisters-in-law, Deborah A. (husband, Peter) Meszaros and Kathryn L. Franz. Their memorial service will begin at 11 am, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont.
